If you have been to Kenya on one of our volunteer programs, chances are you’ve been to Odede. You may have seen and worked in the Mama Ann’s Odede Community Health Centre, or you may remember it as a child care centre. You may have even helped to build it!
Since opening its doors in March 2013, the Odede Health Centre has provided healthcare to over 35,000 people that live in extreme poverty. Staff and volunteers at the Centre have delivered over 2000 babies safely, provided women with antenatal care, vaccinated thousands of children and have become an accredited provider of health insurance in Kenya which allows people living in poverty to access insurance and healthcare.
Become a Friend of Odede
Friends of Odede is an initiative which allows the Centre to continue to treat thousands of patients every year. Many of the patients are too poor to pay medical fees, and so the Health Centre needs extra help so it can continue to care for those who need it most.
Join us in our venture to sponsor our Kenyan nurses to provide vital healthcare to the Odede community. Your support will help expectant mothers give birth safely and nurse their babies, provide medication to treat malaria and typhoid, as well as vaccines and medication to manage preventable, life-threatening illnesses in children.
Become a Friend of Odede today and support Kenyan nurses and midwives to give much needed health care to the people of Kenya
Or perhaps a one-off donation

The Goal for the Health Centre
Ultimately, the Odede Health Centre’s goal, in partnership with World Youth International, is to achieve a fully self-sustainable model. Your financial support will not only help provide the resources to address the Centre’s immediate needs but will also allow it to continue on its path to become a long term, sustainable asset that will benefit the surrounding communities for years to come.
